Already subbed, liked this video, and honestly I think this is my favorite video that you have put out so far. Very educational. I have taken classes in psychology, had a job working with autistic people, got a degree in philosophy and everything you said really resonated with me and I learned a few things.
Awesome video! I'm trying this asap I get home! Thank you, Dave!
Been there, was that person. 48 years of meditation and a late autism diagnosis later, I see that each human has a separately discordant weak and wavering -- and incomplete -- idea of what's going on, there are no universal Truths that don't violate someone else's universal Truth, and humanity won't stop warring about it in the future any more than we have in the past. Unless I'm wrong, of course.
Around the garage...around the garage...
Not sure too many people do not suffer mind blindness.
I'd really love to see the whole video dedicated to this build!

Woooo my web pages are loading 0.18ms faster!!! Woooooooo
LOL.. "others have their own small T truth perspectives.... I struggle with that...." Yeah, I can relate :-)
my mind went down the DEEPEST rabbit hole just from the thumbnail... now after watching the video i know my mind can't be trusted. :P
I am not diagnosed, but a person who knows a lot about this told me I am on the spectrum, which I kinda found offensive then, but not anymore. Just want to add my two cents about the fact that there are people who argue just to argue, they don't really have a truth or a point of view. I find that many autistic people have actually superior communication, as they tend to be clear, not leaving anything for interpretation. From a certain perspective, autistic people may be considered the true "normals", and people who use vague language the weird ones. Regardless, we all need to strive to understand and care about each other, but some truths or points of view are simply superior to others.
I'm not exactly sure why, but this reminded me of the bar scene from the original Star Wars... I'm probably just having a Senior Moment.
I was ok until the Steve's website thing, need to watch again, but my question is, is it the same for a cell?
Yep, I used HP-15C with RPN for my engineering 🙂
I'm pretty sure it's _Time To Live,_ not _Time To Live._
Me and a friend of mine are both low-level mind-blind, and we often have really heated engagements about our own perspectives, but having an underlying foundation of respect and curiosity keeps them from turning into complete fights, most of the time. I like to think we make each other better people.
Thank you Dave, as you told me years ago understanding is key. I recently had a moment of clarity with my occupational therapist of 3 years. "my reliance on routine and fear of change are hindering my personal growth" Simple statement but for me life changing! I actually felt a load was released and shed a tear (i am a 50 year old tradesman) my therapist mentioned she couldn't have told me this, I needed to observe myself to really benefit
You read ALL the comments? Well i applaud your tenacity. I love your content and often find myself with it open on my 2nd, 3rd or 4th screen while working. My analogy for AI in the development scene is: I am able to hammer a nail into a wood board using a rock, but a hammer will do that job a lot better. AI, to me in my daily job, will be another great tool to enhance my productivity and take on the grunt work that i don't feel like doing (creating for loops, code docs, logic optimization, spelling checks, etc.). Much like Linting, intellisense, predictive text, heck... Even line numbers, AI (depending on the developer skill) should not replace me, it should make me a more efficient dev with fewer chances of making silly mistakes like mistypes or accidentally inverting !(!a && b) ever again.
I think "normal" people are also mind blind towards people with autism. Maybe it's because we all use ourselves at the mental model for how other people think.
Exactly. Everyone is on a communication spectrum. People on one end have a hard time communicating with people on the other end, regardless of if you how label those people.
Dave can you help me out? I'm an indie gams developer. I have projects up to 100 GB and need to back up every day, can you tell me the best copy to use. I've used robocopy but not sure about what parameters to use
Heh, kernel compilation hasnt changed in 25 years
Ope. Dangit. Me an my emotional artisttry
I had a C64 in the early 1980's. I had two floppy 170k disc drives and a dot matrix printer. I also had it connected to a 300 baud CICADA (Australia) modem. This was dial-up system however, there weren't many bulletin boards around at the time. Phone calls, particularly overseas ones were expensive, so It didn't get much use. We did manage to transfer a few files amongst ourselves by way of local calls. At the time the C64 was a pretty good system as the peripherals, such as the floppy drives were smart and you could actually disconnect the two drives from the C64 and complete the copy process once it had started and they would complete the copy process. I can recall that in order to get the two floppy drives to work you had to cut a jumper. I even had a Z80 CPU as an accessory attachment for my C64 but never had much use for it.
Just a load of new wave modernist BS. You aint all got autism. What a joke.
One Christmas my brother-in-law gave me a t-shirt reading: "Let's make this easier and agree I'm right." I was amused, with the wisdom of some time since its more an embarrassment.
Thank you, very informative subject that is easy to change for my home network
You probably heard... but just in case: Ubiquiti has released an upgraded UDM called the UDM Pro Max with better hardware and supports up to 5gb internet with full IDS/IPS turned on.
Thanks, good presentation.
Is there a how to video?
I must say, I do enjoy me some bloopers at the end lol. Thanks for sharing!
so every INTP is autistic. ok.
Me to.. But I say those who don't have a Touch of ASD are missing out.. (The Tech's Make the World Tick) Let the Non ASD Persons Socialize and Talk. (Plus I hate Labels) We are all simply People.
I can’t today, I’m a little bit busy.

Thank you, and well done!
I watched this video twice. Quality information that I never knew. I am now questioning whether I am also on the spectrum. Keep the videos coming. ✌️
LOVE TEMPEST! Congratz! ❤👍🏻🎅👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Good essay. Thanks!
I'm not autistic, but I have definitely had a kind of mindblindness where I would interpret certain criticisms of me, or something I did as not serious if they were delivered in a joking manner. For example, a parent said something like "Haha, look at that hilarious pile of teabags you left in the cup on the counter!", and I had no idea that they were actually telling me that I should have thrown it away! 🤣
Haha thank you Dave, my focus is so intense that I cannot see or hear anything else. An example would be looking at something that it becomes the only thing visible and I cannot hear anything else either. Yes I do excel in one particular field.
Windows 95 was the first OS I had my hands on at my school. The task manager only list process list, with no memory and CPU usage and option to end a process. I think it was Windows 98 when that memory and CPU use was added.
